Coil-Tapping '57 Classic Humbuckers Often considered to be the "Holy Grail" in Gibson tone, the pair of '57 Classic humbuckers in your 2014 SG Standard Min-ETune will deliver on that classic gritty crunch true to the early '60s Gibson models. Also, the push-pull volume pots for each humbucker will give the option of getting a single-coil sound when you want to change up your tone. The difference of the coil-splitting feature is heard especially well when you're playing in your clean tone -- you can get a great dynamitic from a well-defined, almost sparkly clean to a fatter, more distorted mix when you push and pull between coil settings.
Onboard Automated Min-ETune Tuning System A great modern feature for this vintage staple in rock is the non-invasive battery-powered Min-ETune tuning system. You won't have to worry about stocking several guitars onstage during a set if you play with different tunings in a single show. This lightweight system comes with 12 factory-installed presents and an additional six slots if you want to store your own tunings. This system will give you 80 to 100 tunings on a single battery, so you'll only have to worry about your playing and not fret over whether you're in tune or not.
Vintage Body and Neck Look The double-cutaway mahogany body looks and feels great, and the double-cutaway shape will always allow easy access to any of the 22 cryogenically frozen corrosion-resistant frets. The 2014 SG Standard Min-ETune's glued-in mahogany neck, shaped in a slim '60s profile, has overbound frets that go all the way to the edge of the rosewood fretboard -- giving you more playing room for higher bends and wider vibratos. The mahogany body and neck will resonate your playing with that great sustain and vintage tone known to a guitar that'll remain a standard in rock in the years to come.
